Akshay Kumar and SajidNadiadwala have been friends for many years. The two have worked together
in movies like Housefull, Housefull 2, Heyy Baby, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Kambakth
Ishq and more. 16th of May 2014 is an important date for both of
them as they are going to launch a few newcomers in their respective movies.
Akshay Kumar and Ashvini Yardi’s Grazing Goat Pictures’ second Hindi production
Fugly will mark the debut of four newcomers that includes former Olympic
champion, boxer Vijendra Singh and Anil Kapoor’s nephew Mohit Marweh. On the
other hand, producer Sajid Nadiadwala
is set to launch Jackie Shroff’s son Tiger Shroff in his release Heropanti. The
film, which is produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd., also
marks the debut of Kriti Sanon, who has recently debuted in a Telugu movie opposite
Mahesh Babu, in Bollywood.
Realizing that both films are youth centric and it probably
wouldn’t be a great idea to release them on the same date, Akshay and Ashvini
decided to move the release date of their movie, Fugly, to 13th June
2014. Ashvini Yardi says, “Akshay and I both share our individual friendship
with Sajid and we took the joint decision to inform Sajid that we would shift
our release date to 13th June 2014.'' He adds, ''Both our films are
youth-oriented films and mark the launch of promising newcomers in our
industry. It's important to give both the films the chance they deserve and it
wouldn't be fair to divide the audience. Although the genres may be similar,
their individual subject matters are very unique.'
It is not very often that we see people doing such friendly
gestures for each other in the industry. This act will certainly cement the
friendship between Akshay, Ashvini and Sajid
Nadiadwala. The producer, who is basking in the success of his latest
presentation Highway, is very excited about his movie Heropanti as he feels
that this film is going to give Bollywood its next superstar. Tiger has worked
very hard for his debut film. Sajid has personally mentored this debutant and has
taken up the responsibility to shape his career.
