Maintaining
relationships in the film industry is a little difficult with onscreen rivals
and competitors all around. However, for some the professional and personal
life is different and they do not prefer mixing it. Also, a lot of give and
take is constantly going on between people, be it favors or gifts. Everyone
knows that producer Sajid Nadiadwala
has bought the rights for author Chetan Bhagat’s book 2 States and he is making
a movie on it. The producer’s interest in Chetan’s story has made the writer very
happy. 2 States will be directed by debutant director Abhishek Varman and
newcomers Arjun Kapoor as well as Alia Bhatt are playing the lead couple.
By writing the
screenplay for Sajid’s directorial
debut Kick, Chetan seems to have returned the film maker’s generosity of
converting his book into a film without tampering the actual story. The writer
is very much delighted to write the screenplay for Kick and he says, “I am
doing it only for Sajid Nadiadwala
and Salman Khan. Sajid called me and asked if I could do it. I simply agreed.”
For Chetan Bhagat it is a big thing to write for Salman and work for a
Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. project. He is more than happy with
turning screenplay writer for the duo, who is best friends from past 20 years.
This delight also makes the writer work for them with much comfort and
dedication. With such a great novel writer on board, Sajid might be just too
relaxed as far as screenplay is concerned.
Kick is a remake of the
2009 telugu movie with the same name. The story has been with Sajid Nadiadwala since then, which
along with buddy Salman motivated him to turn director with it. Also, the strength
and kick in the film has inspired Chetan Bhagat a lot to write the screenplay
for it!
