Alia Bhatt, who is playing the character of Veera in the
movie Highway, is very excited about the release of the film, which is only 2
days away. She says that the most exciting part for her, while shooting for
this Sajid Nadiadwala movie, was the
journey. The journey was beautiful because it was unpredictable. They did not
know what will come next. The weather was also random. It would just start snowing
or raining or there would be landslides. Food was another issue during the
shoot of this movie. There was a time when they sat on the road and had a mix
of maggi and pulao for lunch, as it was raining heavily and food could not be
arranged.
Another interesting part about the movie according to Alia was
that she did not have to do any preparations for the movie. Imtiaz wanted her
to be as raw as possible, just like a blank sheet of paper. All she had to do
was to flow with the character, just feel the character. Alia says it is easier
that way because if you feel the character, every feeling is just a reaction,
not acting, and that is why it looks so real. The difficult part of shooting
for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Highway was
that it was physically very tiring. But the good thing was that she was meant
to look tattered in most of the film.
Basking in the success of the excitement and anticipation
that the film is receiving, including its selection and premiere at the Berlin
Film Festival, Alia remembers the best piece of advice her dad has given her.
He told her to keep her head on her shoulders. Nothing fails more than success.
We all have this constant hunger for success and when we achieve it, then we
feel that we have arrived. That is exactly when we fail. So always, be
grounded. Alia Bhatt hopes to keep this thought with her as she takes her
journey in the film industry forward with her next release on the 21st
of February 2014. Highway is being presented worldwide by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment
Pvt Ltd.
