Randeep Hooda opens up about Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Highway' and 'Kick'!

Due to the roles I play people think I'm too serious and cranky. (Doing such roles) is very hard on you as one has to go through those emotions. It affects your life as well as the people around you. I want to try other genres as well. I want to make people laugh. Highway was my first attempt towards a bit of a comic role,” said Randeep Hooda, who has just given us a hit like Highway. Talking about this Sajid Nadiadwala presentation road film, the actor revealed that he became depressed while shooting for Highway and that he wants to take a break from such dark roles now that affect his mood. However, now that Highway has been made and released, Randeep is busy shooting for Kick.

Kick is another movie by Sajid Nadiadwala, with which he is debuting as a director. Confirming the news Randeep said, “After winding up Highway, I have been shooting for Kick.” The film also stars superstar Salman Khan along with actress Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead. Shooting for the film has been a joy ride for Mr. Hooda, agreeing to which he said, “Doing Kick was quite enjoyable. Salman is a nice person and we have a very good director. It is probably the biggest role I have so far. I'm not playing a villain. It is a love triangle.” Adding to the conversation, Randeep also admitted that working with Salman has been fun too. He said, “No I wasn't nervous. Salman is a very nice person. No doubt he is a superstar. He is a great human being. Kick is the biggest movie of my career. It's a huge canvas. I got an integral part to play in a Salman Khan movie, that's what an actor dreams of.”

Randeep Hooda wanted Naseeruddin Shah to watch Sajid Nadiadwala's Highway

Randeep Hooda is all smiles because of the complements he is receiving for his performance in his latest release Highway. Since its release on the 21st of February, the movie and its entire cast has been receiving appreciation from their colleagues as well as the critics. Randeep, however, feels that the appreciation he has received is incomplete if Naseeruddin Shah, who has been his friend since they worked together in the Motley theater group, does not watch it. He said, “For me, Highway is incomplete till Naseeruddin sir watches it. I am eagerly waiting for his review. I want him to see the film and sit down with me and discuss about it. He has been receiving a lot of calls from the many people praising my work. So he is very happy about it.” Highway, which is being presented worldwide by Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd and UTV Motion Pictures, has touched the hearts of many.

Randeep Hooda has also called Sajid Nadiadwala’s Highway his great comeback and he is absolutely right in saying so. Everybody who has watched the movie has been praising Randeeps’s acting. He had organized a special screening of the film for Mr. Shah, but unfortunately the actor couldn’t make it. Randeep said “Unfortunately, he couldn’t make it for the screening. Nonetheless, he will soon watch the film.” The actor has shared screen space with Naseeruddin in an action thriller in 2013 called John Day and is a huge fan of him. Randeep wants him to watch the movie and discuss what he liked about it and what he could do better in terms of acting. In the movie, Randeep is playing a gang leader, who abducts a girl, played by Alia Bhatt, from a petrol pump on a highway. He then takes her along with him across different states of North India to stay away from the police glare, until his gang members try to get the ransom money.

This Sajid Nadiadwala movie is very special for the entire cast and crew, especially the director Imtiaz Ali. Films like Highway don’t come around often. It stays with you hours after you have left the theatre. You can feel the story resonating in your mind.

Sajid Nadiadwala reshoots song for Kick due to Salman Khan’s discomfort with Jacqueline Fernandez’s hairdo in it!

Salman Khan asked it to be redone, following which Jacqueline’s hair and make-up artist started all over again. After this, the song was re-shot,” informed a source close to Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Actually it seems that the lead actor of Sajid Nadiadwala’s directorial debut Kick is taking his friend’s debut as a director too seriously. And why not, after all the two are best buddies since a long time now. As per the sources at the set of Kick in Film City, where the shoot for the film was in an on-going process, an entire song sequence had to be shot again due to Salman’s discomfort with Jacqueline’s hairdo in it. A few parts of the song had already been shot with Jacqueline as Salman chose to enter the sets late that day. However, once the actor made his entry, he made sure that his displeasure over the issue was taken care of.

Sajid Nadiadwala agreed to the request made by his friend and lead actor and ordered the stylist to work over Jacqueline’s hair all over again. After all, it is Sajid’s first time as a director and Salman is only trying to help him get better at his direction skills. Kick is an action packed masala entertainer, which the producer is producing along with directing it. Other actors like Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Archana Puran Singh, and Mithun Chakraborty will also be seen playing important roles in this action drama. The story of the film revolves around two main characters, out of which one is the conman, who likes to rob the corrupt officials and politicians for his kick and other is the cop assigned to nab him. To know which actor is playing what role, you will have to wait for Kick to release and watch it yourselves.

Salman Khan wants to play it safe this time for Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’!

After a failed attempt at film making by brother and director Sohail Khan with Jai Ho, its lead actor Salmam Khan has become cautious about his further moves. Though the film touched the Rs. 100 crore mark, it was not able to woo the audience. The collection made by the movie was only due to Salman’s presence in the film. However, it was a huge fail otherwise. None would have expected a Salman Khan starrer to be such a basic one. This is the reason that the actor is putting much effort as far as his future films are concerned. He is currently working on his next, which is also a remake of a South Indian film. Being called as Kick, the movie has been produced under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. banner. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is stepping into the shoes of a director for the first time with Kick, which adds on to the responsibility of Salman Khan as he is playing the lead in the movie.

Other actors like Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Archana Puran Singh, and Mithun Chakraborty will also been in important roles in Kick. Talking about Salman Khan, who wants to play it safe this time for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick, a source said, “Salman Khan is being extra cautious about everything that goes into the making of the film after the unfortunate ‘Jai Ho’ fiasco and does not want to risk his stature further at this time in his career. ‘Kick’ is slated for a 2014 release and while the fate of the film is a long way off, no efforts are being spared to ensure Salman will return with a roaring kick at the box office otherwise. The man himself is gung-ho on seeing to that.” Both Sajid and Salman are working hard to provide Kick with a different look and feel.

Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick will release on 25th July this year!

There is an addition to these exciting videos with the latest one shot in Kinnaur. In this episode of Highway Diaries, Imtiaz Ali and Sajid Nadiadwala bring to you the making of the latest song of Highway Kahaan Hoon Main. This song was picturised in the snow covered terrain of Kinnaur, which is located in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Kahaan Hoon Main has been composed by A.R. Rahman, written by Irshad Kamil and the track has been sung by Jonita Gandhi. It is a song of self-discovery from the point of view of Alia's character Veera. “The video further shows the team tolerating the extreme cold to capture unforgettable images in the very picturesque Kinnaur. Covered completely from head to toe, both Alia and Randeep have tried their best to put on right expressions for the camera as well as bear the extreme snowy weather,” said a source.
