Film producer Sajid Nadiadwala seems to have the 'Midas Touch' this year!

Having created a film strategy for him since he joined the film industry, producer Sajid Nadiadwala remained stiff on it all these years. He never made more than one movie in every 2 or 3 years. However, he recently seems to have adopted a change in his filmmaking policies. He has his name linked to 6 films this year, out of which one has already released and also achieved the expected success. The first movie that he presented this year was Highway. Written, directed, and produced by Imtiaz Ali, the road film brought accolades to both Imtiaz and Sajid. “It is a wonderful story told in a modest budget and I didn’t want to let go of an opportunity to work with Imtiaz,” said Sajid talking about Highway. The producer is co-producing another movie with filmmaker Karan Johar, which is based on a book written by Chetan Bhagat. 2 States is the name of this film, which Sajid showed great interested in. Confirming the news, he says, “Whoever I went to, they wanted to do it because they had read the book. One of Karan’s directors had written a screenplay. I read it and loved it.”

Also, debuting as a director this year with the Salman Khan starrer Kick, Sajid Nadiadwala confessed, “It is not too difficult to balance between being a producer and director. I now understand my directors much more than before.” He is also bringing back together the hit Jodi of 2013 – Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in his next with Imtiaz Ali. Talking about this untitled flick Sajid said, “If I could, I would have had them on board four years ago. Our second movie with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starts in July. We wanted to work on it first, but since we had a gap of six-eight months while planning it, we made Highway.” A source added, “He is very happy and confident about his collaboration with the kind of projects he is associating himself with.”

Sajid Nadiadwala has a dazzling past, present, and future!

The Indian film industry is very vast and comprises of the who’s who that have been a part of it since a long time now. Some have even been born and brought up in these extremely film struck families, only to become an actor, actress, director, film maker, or some other important person. To one such family belongs the very famous film producer Sajid Nadiadwala. His grandfather Abdul Karim Nadiadwala was a big producer of his times and has given numerous hits. Sajid has played the perfect heir and has been successful in taking his legacy forward. With a degree in law and desire of becoming an actor, the producer had started his filmy journey by assisting his uncle in some of his movies. Later he went on to become an individual producer with his official banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

This was the film maker’s first achievement during his initial days in Bollywood, which proves that he had a dazzling past. Moving on to more of his films, he delivered some superb stories, which were well executed. Waqt Hamara Hai, Jeet, Judwaa, Andolan, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jaan-e-man, Heyy Babyy, Houseful and Hosuefull 2 are some of Sajid Nadiadwala’s most remembered projects. His hold over mainstream cinema has always been a topic of appreciation for the talented film producer. Wanting to turn a director from a long time, he has recently stepped into the shoes of a director with his upcoming movie Kick that stars Salman Khan in it. He is also working on five other films that will start releasing back to back next year. They comprise of Highway, Heropanti, 2 States, Phantom, and an untitled romantic comedy with Imtiaz Ali. This describes how dazzling is the film maker’s present.

“Films are not appreciated based on how big they are!” – Sajid Nadiadwala

It is a myth that big budget films are always successful and small budget films are not. There have been many low budget movies, which left a mark on the Indian cinema and broke several records over the box office. However, some people fail to understand that a film cannot be judged by how big it is. Even big banner movies, which have enjoyed a huge capital, tend to be absolute flops most of the times. To make people understand this, Sajid Nadiadwala, the famous film maker said in an interview, “Films are not appreciated based on how big they are!” In fact, it depends on the audiences, whether they like a concept or no.

It is the audiences, who decide that a movie is big or small, according to the talented producer. Small budget movies are results of production houses, those cannot afford to invest in a lot of money and not because their story is a dud. Many small scale producers come up with a descent cast and crew, yet a terrific concept and story. Strong genres and out of the box concepts work well with the viewers. The capital invested does not even matter. Sajid Nadiadwala accepts that there are still people, who decide depending upon a film’s budget that whether to watch it or not. However, that should not really be the reason given for not watching a low budget film. You are just showing disrespect to an extremely talented writer or director, who could not make his or her extraordinary story into a big film.

As per Sajid Nadiadwala, people should start trusting the small capital movies as well. Most of them have to give a brilliant message in a simpler way. They do entertain as well as conveniently pass on their message, because the movies are not complicated and flooded with unnecessary item numbers or expensive sets. They are great in their own way!

Sajid Nadiadwala – A top notch celebrity with only friends and no foes!

It obviously sounds too over exaggerated, when you say that someone has no enemies at all and that person is friends with everyone. However, this is not over hyped or false in the case of the talented film producer of Indian cinema Sajid Nadiadwala. This man is cordial to all, including his colleagues, crew members, as well as other celebrities or acquaintances. Never has he raised his voice on any one. Arguing with someone or bad mouthing them on their back is not something that Sajid prefers to do, or has time for. He is always good and polite to each one. In fact, he is so genuine that he is a favorite amongst his team members for the same.

 

Who does not have haters? That does not mean that they hate you because you have done something wrong or have fought with them. People also envy others, who have achieved too much in life and hold a reputed position in the film industry or some other field. Similarly, some people are going to be jealous, but this does not become a reason for Sajid Nadiadwala to hate them back or fall down to their levels an even react. He is a very cheerful and happy man, who loves to go out and have fun with his family and friends.

Being a part of the film industry since his childhood, Sajid knows almost everyone from Bollywood and shares a great bond with many. The list of his close friends is quite a long one. To name a few, we have his best buddy Salman Khan and other actors as well as directors like Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Jackie Shroff, Sajid Khan, Imtiaz Ali, and off late Kabir Khan too. His wife Wardha Khan is also a great friend to Sajid Nadiadwala, with whom he can share his happiness as well as problems.

Last, but not the least, his sons are already growing up to become the best of friends with their dad and that is a good signal!
