Arjun Kapoor relates himself to his character in the Sajid Nadiadwala-Karan Johar co-produced ‘2 States’!

Having played the rough and rowdy guy, who played with guns in his previous two films, actor Arjun Kapoor is now going to be featured as someone very calm and sober. His upcoming romantic film opposite newcomer Alia Bhatt, which is a screen adaptation of the book written by author Chetan Bhagat 2 States, is going to prove a wonderful project. Being co-produced by film makers SajidNadiadwala and Karan Johar, 2 States is slated to release on 18th April, 2014. Based completely on Chetan’s novel with the same name, which also explains the author’s real life love story, the movie is being directed by debutant director Abhishek Varman. The best part is that the director has chosen not to tamper with the original story of the book.

Being portrayed as a very simple and common man kind of guy, Arjun Kapoor relates himself to his character in the Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar co-produced 2 States. Talking about his role in the movie, where the first time he is not playing the violent and arrogant young spoilt boy, Arjun said, “I have never played a contemporary boy before. I have been either gun-toting or guns have been around me. But this is a character that I relate to personally – he is not a geek, but when he fall in love, he becomes this very goofy guy from this very assured human being. In that sense, the love story appealed to me, the fact that I am not playing this cocky, suave guy. It is one of the closest characters to me that I have chosen. This is something I could really relate to. My family is Punjabi, so I know this stereotypical thought process exists – ‘Achha, tu Gujarati se pyaar karta hai?’ which is common.”

Sajid Nadiadwala was the one, who had liked the story of ChetanBhagat’s 2 States and bought the rights for it, thereby deciding to make it into a film with Karan Johar!

We are sure that you must be enjoying all the episodes of Highway Diaries by Sajid Nadiadwala and Imtiaz Ali for their upcoming film Highway. This concept of sharing the behind the scene videos with the audience is quite a creative one. It is rightly said by the director, producer, and writer of the movie Imtiaz Ali that Highway is a road film. Also, the experiences involved in its making have actually made the entire story. For the first time, it is not the movie that has made them gain the experience, but the experiences that together make the movie. Happy to bring this 40 minute TV show episode to a whole new platform after a span of 15 years is its director Imtiaz. He always wanted to work on this project and finally his dream comes true.

Highway is being distributed as well as presented worldwide by film producer Sajid Nadiadwala in association with UTV Motion Pictures. Actors Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda are playing the lead role in the movie, which is about these two characters, which are extremely different from each other. Coming back to the Highway Diaries, this time it was Bikaner, a place in Rajasthan that was covered in the 6th episode of the video series. The director along with his crew enjoyed travelling on truck-tops along the typical Rajasthani highways, villages and farms. They also captured the folk music of Rajasthan live in the state.

The executive producer of Highway Rajesh Sharma said, “In our childhood, we have had read in books and seen in films the folk music of Rajasthan. Due to this movie we have got the opportunity to watch that live at actual locations. I am feeling very good today.” After listening to the performance Rajesh added, “It was a wonderful experience, the performance was lively as well as exciting. We had fun.” This Sajid Nadiadwala presentation Highway will release on 21st February, 2014!

Sajid Nadiadwala out of the fake case filed against him for just Re. 1!

There are no limits to which a person can stoop down in order to save themselves from the shame of having committed a crime. Yes, taking bribes is a crime, which the executive producer of Kick did and got caught by Sajid. Recently, the executive producer of the Sajid Nadiadwala produced as well as directed Kick filed a case of defamation against the producer. Sajid was unaware of all the matter because he was not involved in it in any way. He was not found guilty and it seems like only a publicity stunt on the executive producer’s part, who wanted some fame. She demanded for Re. 1 compensation from Sajid, which hardly makes any sense. This proves that her main agenda was to let down the ace producer in this very important time of his life, when he is turning director with his upcoming film Kick.

Kick is a remake of the South Indian movie with the same name. Sajid Nadiadwala has also written the script for Kick and is producing it under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Along with being a complete action packed masala entertainer, Kick will showcase one of the best onscreen couple made so far, which is superstar Salman Khan and the very versatile Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Actress Jacqueline Fernandez will also be seen in the movie opposite Salman. The fake case filed against Sajid does not bother him as his lawyers are handling it well. In fact, he himself is a lawyer by qualification and when you are a big man, then such small obstacles keep coming. One does not have to worry about such petty issues, which are not even factual.

Sajid Nadiadwala’s directorial debut Kick releases on 25th July next year, which further strengthens the Eid connection with Salman and Sajid. The producer is out of the fake case filed by the executive producer of Kick against him and with much excitement is busy with completing the shoot!
