Sajid Nadiadwala – Journey to stardom!

People do not achieve success in one go. It is a process that takes time and yet does not promise positive results. However, one does not stop struggling and putting in efforts because that is a part of life. Many famous personalities have taken the journey from being a ‘no one’ to becoming ‘someone’. They are now some of the leading faces of India, whom we all identify with.

One such face is Mr. Sajid Nadiadwala. He has taken a long path from being a spot boy to becoming a well known and talented film producer. This man started off his film career by working as a spot boy for Dharmendra. He recalls his teenage days when he was a book worm and had appeared for his law as well as IIS exams. From there, he went to becoming a famous film producer, which he is today. It was a sudden transformation as per Sajid because he had never given this profession a thought, though it is in his blood.

It was then, when Sajid Nadiadwala’s father asked him to help his uncles Habib and Farooq Nadiadwala with the movie ‘Gulami’ that they were producing. Sajid agreed and worked as a spot boy to Dharnmendra and driver to Sangeeta Bijlani. He never felt inferior on doing this job. This was a very small start to this ‘now’ ace producer’s career in the film industry. Sajid adds that Dharmendra started calling him ‘Grandson’ by the time he worked for his next film ‘Hatiyar’. Everyone on the sets got familiar with the name. This is the reason Sajid Nadiadwala named his production house as ‘Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment’.

With a family in the production business since the year 1955, Sajid could not resist becoming a producer himself. Gradually from moving on to being a spot boy, this skilled man started assisted his uncle. He started producing films in 1996 and his first movie was ‘Jeet’. After establishing his own production in the year 2005, there was no looking back for the producer. He went on giving hits after hits, thereby escalating in his journey to stardom!
