Alia Bhatt has got a back-up plan if she fails in acting – all thanks to Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Highway’!

Newcomers in Bollywood are a common sight. Some are able to make a place for themselves in the industry, while others might just do a film or two and vanish. However, for this lovely lady of tinsel town, the future seems to be bright. She is none other than the fashionable newbie Alia Bhatt. Debuting with Karan Johar’s big budget film ‘Student Of The Year’, Alia went on to gain much fame for her glamorous avatar and dancing skills in the film. Now, the youngster will be seen in two movies back-to-back this year. One is the Imtiaz Ali written, directed, and produced Highway and the other is the Sajid Nadiadwala-Karan Johar co-produced 2 States. Highway being Alia’s second film, she is also debuting as a singer with it. The actress has sung a song called Sooha Saha for the film. However, her first reaction when asked to sing by Imtiaz was rather a shocked one.

Justifying her reaction, Alia Bhatt said, “I am not a singer. I think I am a bathroom singer. When I was asked to sing, I was excited and thought of trying it out. A.R. Rahman sir was very patient with me. If I fail as an actress, I will become a singer.” So, the young actress already has a back-up plan is she fails in acting. For this she is all thanks to the Sajid Nadiadwala presentation Highway. Yes, this road film is being presented worldwide by Sajid on 21st February in association with UTV Motion Pictures. The idea of making Alia sing a song struck Imtiaz, when he heard her constantly singing A.R Rahman’s ‘Jiya Re Jiya’ throughout their trip while shooting in six states of north India. Rahman also told the newbie that if she learnt singing for only two years, then she could come up with her own album.

Talking about acting and singing in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Highway, Alia calls both the tasks to be really difficult!
