Katrina Kaif gives bulk dates to Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Phantom’ to avoid delay!

The last release for Indian film producer Sajid Nadiadwala this year will be his first action thriller Phantom. The movie is based on the 26/11 terrors attacks in Mumbai that had left the entire country shattered. While Sajid has produced Phantom under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., director Kabir Khan is directing it. Actors Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif will be seen playing the leads in the film, where Saif is featured as a secret agent and Katrina as a photojournalist, both from the counter terrorist side. 

The film is slated to hit the theatres on 2^nd October this year, which is Gandhi Jayanti. This might be first time in history that an actress’s two films might release on the same day. Katrina’s other movie Bang Bang with Hrithik Roshan will supposedly release on the same date; however, it has not been confirmed yet. In order to avoid delay of Phantom, the half British actress has given bulk dates to Sajid.

However, still Fox Star Studios claims they have Katrina’s bulk dates and not Sajid Nadiadwala. Confirming the news that the bulk dates are with Phantom, a source close to Katrina Kaif said, “Her schedule has gone topsy turvy because of the delay in the schedule of Bang Bang. For Phantom, she was required to shoot for 55 days, out of which they have already finished 10-12 days of shoot, and her dates have been assigned for a long time now. While, one cannot say anything about Bang Bang, Phantom shall release on schedule.” The actress is currently juggling between couple more films other than Phantom, which are Jagga Jasoos with Ranbir Kapoor and Fitoor with Aditya Roy Kapur. Nadiadwala having Kaif’s bulk dates will surely complete shooting for Phantom soon. They can then release the movie on the date already decided with ease.

Sajid Nadiadwala’s Phantom has completed its shooting schedule in Kashmir

The movie phantom that is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under his home banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film has Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead. Both the actors started shooting for the film after returning from their respective holidays. Katrina Kaif was in London, spending time with her family, while Saif Ali Khan was holidaying with his wife. Both the actors are keen on finishing the shooting of the film without any delay and so is the director. Saif and Katrina are both playing counter terrorists in the film and have worked really hard on their look as well as acting in the movie.

Some part of this Sajid Nadiadwala movie was shot in Beirut, Lebanon. Even though, the country was experiencing a political turmoil at the time, the crew managed to finish their shooting without any major mishaps. The next part of the film was being shot in Kashmir for the last 2 weeks. The movie was shot in Gulmarg, which is one of the best ski sites in the world. It was recently voted no 16 on the list of best ski sites in the world. The crew shot here for a week. Later on, the shooting was continued in Pahalgam, which is a picturesque hill station in the valley. Saif Ali Khan has been in Kashmir for 2 weeks with his entire crew and was recently joined by the leading lady of the film.

The shooting schedule of the Sajid Nadiadwala production in Kashmir has now come to an end. The director of the film Kabir Khan tweeted the Chief Minister of the state, “@abdullah_omar it's great to b able to shoot in Kashmir again. The enthusiasm and hard work of the locals was heart warming. We will be back.” It is clear how happy he is after shooting in the valley. Shooting is Kashmir is not only an advantage for the film industry but also for the locals as it creates job opportunities for them and gives them the right kind of exposure to the industry. Also, it has exceptionally increased the tourism of the valley.

Sajid Nadiadwala wants to create a little controversy with his upcoming film ‘Phantom’!

A little controversy is always good for a film, which is about to release. It definitely attracts eyeballs and proves to be beneficial for the film as well as the makers. Similarly, the famous Indian film producer Sajid Nadiadwala is in mood to create a little controversy with his upcoming movie Phantom. Though the producer wants to go slow over it, he has on purpose given this action thriller a working title like Phantom. Phantom is a very basic and common title, which is temporary for sure. He will later change the film’s name to something interesting as well as a bit controversial. In order to keep things going smoothly till the movie has been wrapped, they have been subtly calling it Phantom. Talking about this a source said, “The makers don’t want the story line of the movie to be revealed right now which is why they have kept the working title, Phantom.”

The name of the movie can be changed to Daniyal Khan later, which is said to be the name of the character Saif is playing in the film. Katrina’s name in Phantom will be Nawab. The first schedule of the film was shot in volatile regions of Beirut last year. The shoot for the second schedule has now been moved to Mumbai, which might later head to Kashmir. Talking about the controversial title the source added, “Right now the title is Phantom and they are planning to change it once the film is complete or will probably announce it close to the release of the film!”

Will Katrina Kaif v/s Katrina Kaif be a threat for Sajid Nadiadwala?

Hundreds of Bollywood films are made and released every year. Not many enjoy a single release; there are often two or three films releasing on the same date. However, something like this might happen for the first time in the history of Indian cinema. Two films, the Sajid Nadiadwala produced Phantom and the Hrithik Roshan starrer Bang Bang are allegedly said to hit the theatres on the same date, which is 2^nd October this year. Both the films will be having actress Katrina Kaif playing the lead role. While Katrina will play a secret agent along with Saif Ali Khan in Phantom, she will play Hrithik Rohan’s love interest in Bang Bang. It has never happened before that two different films with the same lead have released on the same day.

Giving details about the same a source said, “Director Kabir Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala finished the first schedule of the film a few weeks ago and since then, they have been looking for the perfect date for the film’s release. Sajid is adamant about releasing the film on this day as it falls on the first day of the longest weekend of the year. October 2 marks Gandhi Jayanti on a Thursday; the next day is Dusshera, followed by the weekend and Eid on Monday. An official announcement is yet to be made but if things fall in place, October 2 will be the release date. A lot of filmmakers are eyeing this date. For instance, the makers of Bang Bang are yet to start shooting their film, but they have already declared October 2 as their release date. Now if both these films end up releasing on the same day, they will invariably eat into each other’s business. Moreover, Katrina Kaif, the leading lady in both the films, will have a tough time promoting it.”

So, will Katrina Kaif v/s Katrina Kaif be a threat for Sajid Nadiadwala? Well, we will have to just wait and watch!

Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Phantom’ to hit the big screen towards the end of 2014!

Producing a film individually is not a common concept in Bollywood. Usually, two or more producers prefer to co-produce a movie, especially due to the trend of making big budget films these days. However, a few film producers do possess the capability of taking it entirely on their shoulders. One such individual Indian film producer is the very famous film maker Sajid Nadiadwala. He has been currently working on 5 big movies, which are slated to release back to back in the next year. Starting with the offbeat road film directed by Imtiaz Ali that Sajid is presenting worldwide is Highway. It releases on 21^st February 2014. Moving on to 18^th April, we have 2 States based on the story of a book, which Sajid is co-producing with Karan Johar.

Tiger Shroff is also debuting with a Sajid Nadiadwala production named Heropanti that hits the theatres on 16^th May, 2014. Later on July 25 releases the producer’s directorial debut and the much awaited Salman Khan starrer Kick. Remake of a Telugu movie, Kick is expected to break several box office records. Last, but not the least is the action thriller being directed by talented director Kabir Khan, which has been tentatively named as Phantom. By producing Phantom, Sajid is moving out of his comfort zone, as he has always preferred to make commercial and comedy movies before. This seems to be his first complete action packed project that will feature actors Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif as leads. Paired opposite each other for the first time as one another’s love interest, the two actors have also worked together earlier in Race.

Sajid Nadiadwala’s Phantom is about the post 26/11 terror attack conditions in Mumbai, which has been shot at the Beirut, Lebanon border – a war struck area. Shoot for the first schedule of the movie has been completed and it is expected to hit the big screen towards the end of 2014!
