Though the film is a
screen adaptation of a book that author Chetan Bhagat wrote based on his real
life love story, ‘2 States’ promises to turn heads. Releasing this year, the
film has been beautifully done, which portrays the story of the book
authentically. Co-produced by film makers SajidNadiadwala and Karan Johar, 2 States might just be an adaptation, but the
fresh cast of the movie might truly prove to be a wonderful advantage for the
film. Newcomers Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor are playing the lead roles in the
film, which debutant Abhishek Varman is directing. While Arjun plays the north
Indian boy Krishh Malhotra, Alia plays his love interest Ananya Swaminathan,
who is a south Indian girl. The film is all about their love and attempts to
convince their culturally different families to agree to their marriage.
Talking about the fresh
cast of 2 States, a source said, “Adaptation of
this Chetan Bhagat book has been interestingly mounted by Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar. Moreover Arjun Kapoor’s first
time pairing with Alia Bhatt should make heads turn too.” Both Arjun and Alia
are young as well as new to the film industry as they are just a couple of
films old. To your surprise, these new talents have bagged too many roles for
them this year. Alia will be soon seen in the Imtiaz Ali produced, directed, as
well as written road film Highway, followed by 2 States. An insider informs, “Arjun
would have the most eventful 2014 as he would be seen in Gunday,
2 States, Finding Fanny Fernandez,
and Tevar. What makes his stint in
Bollywood further interesting is the fact that each of these films belongs to
different genres.” This means that both the newbie actors are
enjoying their part of success in Bollwood already, which is a good sign for
the future of Indian cinema.
