Alia Bhatt, who plays Veera in the movie Highway, enjoyed
her experience of working with Randeep Hooda and Imtiaz Ali. Her character in
this film is particularly different from her style-diva-kind-of-role in her
debut film ‘Student of the Year’. Veera is abducted by three men and she has to
travel along with them on their journey across 6 different states of North
India, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir. One of
these three men is Randeep Hooda, whose character in this film is called
Mahaveer. This Sajid Nadiadwala film
is going to release on February 21 2014.
Alia shared her most memorable moments while shooting in
each of the six states with her fans, when she was in Koklata recently to
promote the film. She remembers how difficult it was to shoot in Delhi as they
had to shoot on the streets and it was difficult because of the crowd. She also
revealed that the movie has actually been shot chronologically and hence they
started with Delhi. The of the film Highway, which is being presented worldwide
by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner
Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd., then moved to Haryana. Here they
shot the scene in which Alia and Randeep come face to face for the first time. He
drags her through an open field. The next destination was very special for
Alia, as the crew celebrated her birthday in Rajasthan. Randeep gifted her a
book on Acting, which was gifted to him by Naseeruddin Shah.
When the crew was shooting in Punjab, Alia says his biggest
moment was when she climbed a tree all by herself. She says she had never done
anything like that before and it is these little things that she feels has
achieved during the shooting of Sajid
Nadiadwala’s Highway. In Himachal, she met a group of women, that her
father had met on an earlier trip and clicked some snaps with them. She also
loved the snow covered mountains of Himachal Pradesh. When shooting in Kashmir,
Alia shot a scene while holding a baby goat in her arms. That was for her the
most memorable moment of the shoot.
