Imtiaz Ali wants to keep Randeep Hooda’s character in Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Highway’ under the wraps!

Certain things are better when they come to you as a surprise. It adds on to the overall excitement as well as interest of the person towards it. Thinking on similar lines, director Imtiaz Ali wants to keep the character of the lead in his upcoming movie Highway under the wraps. He has written, directed, and produced the film, which Sajid Nadiadwala is presenting worldwide on 21st February, 2014. The makers of Highway Imtiaz and Sajid have tied up the UTV Motion Pictures, which has taken the responsibility of distributing the film. Actors Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt are playing the lead roles. The story of this film has been with Imtiaz from the past 15 years and he has finally made it into a movie.

We hear that Alia and Randeep are featured as two people, which are exactly opposite to each other in terms of their basic nature and personality. While Alia plays a rich and egoistic girl, Randeep has been portrayed as a gangster. There are more talks about Alia and her looks in Highway. However, the director does not seem to be in any mood to unveil more about the role Randeep is playing. Confirming this he said, “We don't want to expose his character right now because I feel there is an inherent mystery in that character.” This road film is very close to Imtiaz Ali’s heart and Sajid Nadiadwala is also very happy to be a part of it.

The director also feels that the story though 15 years old, this is the right time to share it with the audiences. Reasoning for the same he said, “Sometimes you have a story, but as a director you are not even competent enough to make it. As the audience is now ready to welcome different kinds of films, they don't want to see typical kind of films; I think it is the right time!”
