After
the first schedule of the upcoming movie Kick that was being shot in Glasgow,
London got shelved, producer SajidNadiadwala decided to shoot for it in Mumbai itself. The reason for this
was Salman Khan, the lead actor’s visa issues. Other than Salman, actors
Jacqueline Fernandez and Randeep Hooda are also being featured in this remake
of the Telugu movie with the same name. Sajid, who is turning director with
Kick, has also written the story for Kick. He is producing it as well under his
banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.
The
second schedule for Kick is supposed to start mid November this year, which
will be shot at a set in Karjat. This set was erected sometime back, where
Delhi was recreated. However, a problem between the Indian Film and Television
Producers Council (IFTPC) and the Mazdoor Union has again brought Kick to a
standstill. The issue is all about the workers of the film required for
shooting at Karjat demanding a pay hike. According to them, the location is
outside Mumbai and their wages should thereby be increased. Sajid Nadiadwala, who is also the
president of IFTPC, had to finally send a strict letter to the Union as the
workers stopped working. The letter sent by Sajid read, “With no option left
with us, our producer-members to make alternate arrangements to source workers
for their requirements of service, since it is inevitably essential for
completion of all ongoing work for Films and Television.”
Of
course this seems justified if seen as the president of the council. The
workers cannot take undue advantage of the film makers, as they have no option
but pay them to continue working, thereby avoiding losses. However, Sajid Nadiadwala is trying to make the
workers understand and reunite with them. By then, he has started
shooting little portions for Kick in Karjat. He also said in an interview, “I start shooting with Salman on November 21 and I am hopeful
that the issue will be resolved!”
